People of more than 200 nationalities live and work in the UAE. This Diversity and Inclusion Policy explains how UAE Explained makes its guides useful, respectful and accessible to all of them, whatever their background, job or income.
1. Our Commitment
Every guide on UAE Explained is written for everyone who needs it, regardless of nationality, ethnicity, religion, gender, age, disability, income or type of work. The rules we explain apply to all residents, and so does our help.
2. Writing for Every Reader
Many of our readers use English as a second or third language. We write in plain English, keep sentences short, explain abbreviations such as ICP, MOHRE and ILOE the first time we use them, and never assume that readers already know how a UAE process works.
3. Covering Every Kind of Resident
UAE life is not the same for everyone, so our guides are not written only for high earners or for people with a company PRO to help them. We cover salary-card and payroll-card users, workers on entry-level salaries, domestic workers, students, families and visitors, and we explain the options that apply to them as well as the premium ones.
4. Respect for Culture, Religion and Law
We describe Emirati culture, Islamic traditions and UAE law accurately and respectfully. We explain what the rules are and how they apply, without stereotyping any nationality, faith or community.
5. Non-Discrimination in Our Content
We do not publish content that demeans or discriminates against anyone because of their nationality, ethnicity, religion, gender, age or disability. Worked examples and scenarios are chosen to reflect the range of people who live in the UAE, and we avoid language that excludes or stereotypes.
6. Accessibility
We want the site to be usable by as many people as possible, including people using screen readers, older devices or slow mobile connections. That means:
- Clear headings and a logical page structure.
- Descriptive alternative text on images.
- Text and backgrounds with strong colour contrast.
- Tables with proper headers, and calculators that work on mobile phones.
- Fast, lightweight pages that load well on mobile data.
If something on the site is hard to use with your device or assistive technology, please tell us so we can fix it.
7. Comments and Reader Contributions
Comments are moderated. We do not publish comments that are abusive, hateful or discriminatory, and we remove any that slip through.
8. Advertising
Ads on the site are served by Google. If an ad on our pages is discriminatory or targets readers based on their background, we will use the controls Google provides to block it. Our Advertising Policy explains how advertising works on the site.
9. Reporting a Concern
If you think any content on UAE Explained is unfair, exclusionary or inaccurate about a group of people, email romanshah047@gmail.com or use our Contact page. We review every concern and update the content where it falls short of this policy.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
