Best Credit Cards in the UAE Without Salary Transfer (2026)
You can get many UAE credit cards without moving your salary to the bank. The Mashreq Cashback Card, RAKBANK RED, ADCB 365 Cashback, FAB Cashback and DIB’s Consumer Cashback card all list a minimum salary of AED 5,000 as their main condition, and none of their card pages lists a salary transfer as a requirement. Of these, Mashreq Cashback and RAKBANK RED are also free for life, which makes them the easiest picks if you want to keep your salary where it is. You still need to prove your income with a salary certificate and bank statements, and a good credit record matters more without a salary transfer.
- Free card, no salary transfer listed: Mashreq Cashback or RAKBANK RED.
- Higher rewards, no salary transfer listed: ADCB 365 if you spend AED 5,000 a month.
- Keep your credit record clean, since it carries more weight.
Cards that do not list a salary transfer
The table summarises what each bank’s card page set as eligibility in October 2026. A bank can still ask for more during assessment, but none of these makes a salary transfer a published condition.
| Card | Published eligibility | Annual fee | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mashreq Cashback | Monthly income of at least AED 5,000 | Free for life | Dining, at 5% with no minimum spend |
| RAKBANK RED | Minimum monthly income of AED 5,000 | Free for life | Flat cashback and a free monthly international transfer |
| ADCB 365 Cashback | Age 18 or over, and AED 5,000 salary or eligibility for a AED 3,000 limit | Free year one, then AED 383.25 | High spenders, AED 5,000 a month or more |
| FAB Cashback | Minimum salary of AED 5,000 | AED 300 | Supermarkets, fashion and dining |
| DIB Consumer Cashback (Islamic) | Minimum salary of AED 5,000 | AED 200 plus VAT | Groceries, fuel, bills and school fees |

Why banks ask for a salary transfer
A salary transfer gives the bank comfort. It sees your income arrive each month and can collect repayments as soon as it lands. That is why salary transfers are most common with personal loans, and why banks reward them with offers rather than demanding them for every card.
| Product | Salary transfer |
|---|---|
| Entry cashback credit cards | Usually not a published condition |
| Salary-linked account packages | Required, often with a cash bonus |
| Personal loans at the best rates | Often required |
| Fee waivers on current accounts | Often linked to salary, as with Mashreq NEO |
Mashreq NEO is a useful example: its fall-below fee of AED 26.25 is waived if you transfer a salary of at least AED 5,000, and it pays a salary cashback. That is an incentive on the account, not a condition of the credit card.
How banks judge you without one
Without a salary transfer, the bank relies on other evidence. Have these ready, and the application is far more likely to go through.
| What the bank checks | What helps |
|---|---|
| Income | A recent salary certificate and three to six months of statements showing the salary arriving |
| Credit record | An Al Etihad Credit Bureau report with no missed payments |
| Existing debt | Low repayments relative to income, within Central Bank limits |
| Employer | An established employer; many banks keep lists of approved companies |
| Identity and residence | A valid Emirates ID and residence visa |
Your credit report is the one you can influence most. Pay every bill on time, avoid applying to several banks in the same week, and keep card balances well below their limits. If an application is declined, wait and fix the reason rather than reapplying elsewhere straight away, because each application is visible to the next lender.
Is moving your salary worth it?
Sometimes. Salary transfer packages can bring a cash bonus, fee waivers and better loan rates, and they can make approval for a higher card limit easier. The downside is flexibility. If you later take a loan with that bank, moving your salary away usually needs a clearance or liability letter, and some salary-linked products carry minimum stay periods. If you only want a credit card, a no-fee card that does not list a salary transfer keeps your options open. If you also want a loan, compare the full salary-transfer package, not just the card.
Loans and cash without a salary transfer
Some banks offer borrowing without a salary transfer, usually at a higher cost. RAKBANK’s Instant Money lets credit card holders borrow above their card limit with no salary transfer, for a 1% processing fee and 2% a month on a reducing balance, over up to 48 months, for expatriate salaried customers. Mashreq has advertised its NEO Credit personal loan with no salary transfer required. Compare the total cost with a salary-transfer loan before committing. Frequently asked questions
Can I get a credit card in the UAE without a salary transfer?
Yes. Cards such as Mashreq Cashback, RAKBANK RED, ADCB 365, FAB Cashback and DIB Consumer Cashback list a minimum salary, not a salary transfer, as their eligibility condition.
Which free credit card needs no salary transfer?
Mashreq Cashback and RAKBANK RED are both free for life and list a AED 5,000 minimum income rather than a salary transfer.
What documents do I need without a salary transfer?
Typically your Emirates ID, passport with residence visa, a recent salary certificate and several months of bank statements showing your salary.
Will I get a lower limit without a salary transfer?
Possibly. The limit depends on your income, existing debts and credit record, and some banks are more generous when your salary is paid to them.
Can I get a personal loan without a salary transfer?
Some products allow it, such as RAKBANK’s Instant Money for its cardholders, but the cost is usually higher than a salary-transfer loan.
