Dubai to Sharjah Bus Timings

Dubai to Sharjah Bus Timings: E303, E306, E307 and E315

Six RTA routes connect Dubai and Sharjah: E303, E306, E307, E307A, E308 and E315. The fare is AED 12 each way, paid by Nol card only, and the journey takes roughly 35 to 60 minutes on the timetable, often longer in rush hour. Buses run from before 05:00 to just after midnight, and the busiest route leaves every 10 to 15 minutes rather than to a fixed timetable.

Before you travel
  1. Pick your route by the Dubai station nearest you, not by number.
  2. Load at least AED 12 each way onto a Nol card.
  3. Avoid 07:00 to 09:00 and 17:00 to 20:00 if you can.

Dubai to Sharjah bus at a glance

This is the busiest intercity corridor in the country, carrying tens of thousands of commuters in both directions every day. That shapes everything about the service: high frequency, several parallel routes, and journey times that swing widely with traffic rather than with distance.

Item Detail
Operator RTA (Roads and Transport Authority)
Routes E303, E306, E307, E307A, E308, E315
Fare AED 12 each way
Payment Nol card only, no cash or bank cards
Journey time About 35 to 60 minutes on the timetable, 90 or more at peak
Frequency Every 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the route

The single most useful thing to understand is that these routes are not alternatives to one another in the way they look on a list. Each one starts from a different Dubai station and some end at a different Sharjah station, so the right choice depends on which end of each city you are starting from.

The routes and where they run

All six routes work in both directions using the same number, so an E303 out of Union comes back from Al Jubail as an E303. The table below shows the pairing.

Route Dubai end Sharjah end Typical journey
E303 Union Bus Station Al Jubail Bus Station About 50 minutes
E306 Al Ghubaiba Bus Station Al Jubail Bus Station About 55 to 60 minutes
E307 Deira City Centre Bus Station Al Jubail Bus Station About 35 to 40 minutes
E307A Abu Hail Bus Station, by Abu Hail metro Al Jubail Bus Station, via Al Mamzar and Al Qasba About 50 minutes
E308 Stadium Bus Station Al Jubail Bus Station About 35 to 40 minutes
E315 Etisalat Bus Station Al Muwailah Bus Terminal About 40 minutes

Five of the six terminate at Al Jubail, which is the main Sharjah terminal near the corniche and the souqs. The E315 is the outlier: it runs to Al Muwailah in the east of Sharjah, which is the better choice for the university area rather than the city centre.

On the Dubai side, every route starts at or near a metro station. Union is where the Red and Green Lines meet, Deira City Centre is on the Red Line, and Al Ghubaiba, Abu Hail, Stadium and Etisalat are all on the Green Line. Etisalat station has been renamed e&, though the bus station keeps the old name. Each route has its own detailed page: E303, E306, E307, E307A and E308, and E315.

Dubai to Sharjah bus timings

Heading out of Dubai, the first departures start between about 05:00 and 06:40 depending on the route, and the last leave between 22:30 and just after midnight. These are weekday operating windows in current schedule data.

Route From (Dubai) First and last, weekdays Frequency
E303 Union About 06:30 to 23:40 Every 10 to 15 minutes
E306 Al Ghubaiba About 06:40 to 23:35 Every 20 to 30 minutes
E307 Deira City Centre About 06:10 to 00:20 Every 15 to 30 minutes
E307A Abu Hail About 06:30 to 22:35 Every 30 minutes
E308 Stadium About 05:20 to 23:25 Every 26 to 34 minutes
E315 Etisalat About 05:00 to 23:00 Every 30 minutes

The E307 is the one to remember for a late night out. It runs until about 00:20 out of Deira City Centre on weekdays, after every other RTA route to Sharjah has finished. If you are travelling after about 23:30, check the E307 first. At weekends most routes finish earlier, so check the individual route page or the S’hail app.

Sharjah to Dubai bus timings

The return leg is not a mirror image, and this catches commuters out. Buses out of Sharjah generally start earlier and finish earlier than the same route leaving Dubai, because the service is built around people travelling into Dubai for work in the morning.

Route From (Sharjah) First and last, weekdays To (Dubai)
E303 Al Jubail About 05:30 to 22:45 Union
E306 Al Jubail About 05:30 to 23:10, to about 20:55 at weekends Al Ghubaiba
E307 Al Jubail About 05:20 to 23:40 Deira City Centre
E307A Al Jubail About 05:30 to 21:55 Abu Hail
E308 Al Jubail From 04:36 to 23:15, non-stop Stadium
E315 Al Muwailah About 05:10 to 23:00 Etisalat

Compare the two directions on the E307 and the asymmetry is clear: it starts about 50 minutes earlier from Sharjah than from Deira, and stops about 40 minutes earlier at night. The E308 is the early bird, with a first departure from Al Jubail at 04:36 that runs straight to Stadium without stopping. If you are planning a late return to Sharjah, it is the Dubai-side last buses that matter.

RTA publishes operating hours for its intercity network rather than a fixed departure list, so treat these windows as indicative and check the S’hail app on the day. Times shift for Ramadan, public holidays and roadworks.

Fares and paying with Nol

The fare is flat in both directions and does not vary by route or by how far along the corridor you travel.

Item Detail
Single journey AED 12, either direction
Return, same day AED 24 in total, charged as two journeys
Previous fares AED 7, then AED 10, both now out of date
Accepted payment Nol card only
Not accepted Cash, credit cards, debit cards

Buy or top up a Nol card at any metro or bus station before you board, and keep more than the exact fare on it. Many pages still quote AED 10, and a card loaded to that figure will be refused at the reader. A daily commuter should budget AED 24 a day, or around AED 480 a month for a five-day week, which is still far below the cost of driving the same corridor once tolls and parking are counted. The full fare picture across the country is in our UAE bus timings guide, and card types are explained in our Nol card guide.

Choosing the right route

With six routes covering the same city pair, the decision comes down to your two end points and the time of day.

  • Coming from the metro in Deira, take the E303 from Union, the most frequent route, or the E307 from Deira City Centre, the quickest.
  • Starting in Bur Dubai, the E306 from Al Ghubaiba is the shortest walk.
  • Starting in Al Qusais, or travelling very early from Sharjah, use the E308 from Stadium.
  • Heading for Sharjah University City or Al Muwailah, take the E315 rather than doubling back from Al Jubail.
  • Travelling late, check the E307 first, as it runs latest out of Dubai.

Sharjah’s own transport authority also runs buses into Dubai, to destinations the RTA routes do not reach: route 113 to Rashidiya, route 308 to Jebel Ali and route 309 to Al Quoz. These are SRTA services with their own fares, so a Nol card is not your ticket.

Traffic, not distance, decides your journey time on this corridor. The same trip that takes 40 minutes at midday can take 90 minutes or more in the evening peak, when Al Ittihad Road backs up. Travelling slightly outside 07:00 to 09:00 and 17:00 to 20:00 makes a bigger difference than any choice of route.
