E306 bus between Al Ghubaiba and Sharjah waterfront landmarks

E306 Bus: Al Ghubaiba to Sharjah Timings and Stops

The E306 is the RTA bus between Al Ghubaiba Bus Station in Bur Dubai and Al Jubail Bus Station in Sharjah. It runs every 20 to 30 minutes on weekdays and takes about an hour. From Al Ghubaiba it operates from 06:40 to 23:35 on weekdays, and from Al Jubail from 05:30 to 23:10. At weekends the Sharjah end closes much earlier, with the last bus at around 20:55. The fare is AED 12, paid by Nol card.

Before you travel
  1. Load at least AED 12 onto a Nol card before you reach the station.
  2. At weekends, plan to leave Sharjah before about 20:45.
  3. Allow a full hour, this is the slowest of the Dubai to Sharjah E-routes.

The E306 at a glance

This page is about the E306 specifically. For a comparison of every bus between the two cities, see our Dubai to Sharjah bus guide.

The E306 takes a different road from the E303 and E307. Instead of Ittihad Road, it uses the coastal corridor past Al Mamzar and Al Qasba, and on the Dubai side it runs through Deira’s waterfront districts before reaching Bur Dubai. That longer path is why it takes ten minutes or so more than the others.

E306 stops in both directions

The Sharjah half of the route is identical both ways. The Dubai half differs: towards Sharjah the bus calls at Hyatt Regency and Kuwait Hospital, and towards Al Ghubaiba it calls at Hamriya, Dubai Hospital and the Gold Souq bus station instead.

Al Qasba is the stop that sets the E306 apart. It is the only one of the main E-routes from Union, Deira City Centre and Al Ghubaiba that serves Al Qasba, which makes it the easiest of the three for the canal-side restaurants and attractions at Al Qasba.

Al Ghubaiba to Sharjah timings

RTA does not publish fixed departure times for this route, only hours and frequency. These are the operating hours in current schedule data.

Days First bus Last bus Frequency
Monday to Friday 06:40 23:35 Every 20 to 30 minutes
Saturday 05:55 22:00 Every 20 to 30 minutes
Sunday 05:55 22:00 Every 25 to 35 minutes

With up to half an hour between buses, it is worth arriving at Al Ghubaiba with a few minutes to spare rather than walking up as one pulls out. The station is large, so allow time to find the right bay.

Sharjah to Al Ghubaiba timings

This is the direction where the weekend matters. On weekdays the last bus leaves Al Jubail after 23:00, but on Saturday and Sunday the service ends before 21:00.

Days First bus Last bus Frequency
Monday to Friday 05:30 23:10 Every 20 to 38 minutes
Saturday 05:00 20:55 Every 20 to 30 minutes
Sunday 05:00 20:58 Every 25 to 35 minutes

If you spend a weekend evening in Sharjah and miss the last E306, you are not stranded. The E303 to Union runs until about 23:10 on Saturday and 23:20 on Sunday, and Union is a short metro hop from Al Ghubaiba on the Green Line.

Fare and paying with Nol

Single journey AED 12, either direction
Fare basis Flat fare to Sharjah, whichever stop you use
Payment Nol card or Red ticket
Not accepted Cash, bank cards

Al Ghubaiba metro station is next to the bus station, so you can top up there before boarding. Older guides still give AED 10 for this route. Keep at least AED 12 on the card plus a margin, because a short balance means being turned away at the reader. Card types and top-up options are in our Nol card guide.

Why Al Ghubaiba is a useful end point

Al Ghubaiba is one of Dubai’s main intercity bus stations, and that makes the E306 more than a Bur Dubai commuter bus. From the same station you can continue across the country without crossing the city.

So a Sharjah resident heading to Abu Dhabi or Al Ain can take the E306 into Al Ghubaiba and change there, instead of going via Union. For every intercity route, see our UAE bus timings guide.
