ILOE Insurance Renewal: How to Subscribe & Renew Online
You can subscribe to or renew UAE ILOE unemployment insurance at iloe.ae or in the ILOE app using your Emirates ID. The premium is AED 5 a month plus VAT for Category A (basic salary up to AED 16,000) and AED 10 plus VAT for Category B. After your policy expires you have a 30-day grace period to renew before a penalty applies.

How much ILOE costs?
Before you subscribe or renew, it helps to know which category you fall into, because that sets your premium. Involuntary Loss of Employment (ILOE) is the UAE’s mandatory unemployment insurance scheme, and your category depends only on your basic monthly salary. The premium is small, and you can pay it monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually.

New subscriptions and renewals are now typically taken for a two-year period, which is why you will usually see the two-year total at checkout rather than a single month. The exact figure shown includes VAT, so treat the amounts above as a close guide and confirm the total on the payment screen. Whatever you pay, it is far cheaper than the fines for letting cover lapse, covered further down.
How to subscribe to ILOE for the first time?
If you have just started a job, you must subscribe within four months of your work permit being issued. Subscribing online takes a few minutes and gives you an instant certificate.
- Go to iloe.ae and click “Subscribe / Renew Here”, or open the ILOE app.
- Log in with your Emirates ID number, UAE mobile, and date of birth, then verify the OTP.
- Select your employment category (A or B) based on your basic salary.
- Choose your subscription period and pay by debit or credit card through the secure gateway.
- Download the PDF certificate; a receipt is also sent by email and SMS.

How to renew your ILOE insurance?
ILOE does not renew itself automatically unless you have set up a direct debit, so it is on you to renew before the policy expires. The good news is that renewing is the same short process as subscribing, and you only need your Emirates ID.
- Open iloe.ae or the ILOE app and choose “Subscribe / Renew Here”.
- Log in with your Emirates ID and OTP; your existing policy is recognised automatically.
- Confirm your category and renewal period, then pay. Your new certificate is issued immediately.
If your policy has already expired, you have a grace period of 30 days from the expiry date to renew without a penalty. Renew within that window and there is no fine; miss it and the late-payment penalty described below starts to apply.
Set up a direct debit or a calendar reminder for a few days before your ILOE expiry. The scheme does not auto-renew by default, and the 30-day grace period is easy to miss.
Where you can subscribe or renew?
The website and app are the fastest routes, but they are not the only ones. If you do not have a card to hand, prefer to pay in cash, or want help in person, there are several official channels. They all update the same ILOE record.

What happens if your policy lapses?
Letting ILOE lapse is not free. If premiums go unpaid for more than three months, you are charged an AED 200 fine and your ILOE certificate can be cancelled, ending your cover. If you never subscribed at all, the fine is AED 400. Either fine can block a new work permit until it is cleared, so renewing on time is the cheaper path.
