du Customer Care Number: 155, 800 155 and WhatsApp
The du customer care number is 155 from a du line and 800 155 toll-free from other networks. From outside the UAE, du lists +971 55 567 8155. Support runs 24 hours a day, and du also answers on WhatsApp at 058 242 8268, a number it styles as +971 58 CHATBOT, and through Noora, its round-the-clock online chat. Virgin Mobile, although it runs on du’s network, has its own separate support.
- From a du line dial 155, from anything else 800 155.
- Abroad, use +971 55 567 8155.
- Have your number or account number ready, and your Emirates ID for anything about ownership.
du customer care numbers at a glance
du keeps its contact options simple, but which number works depends on where you are and which network you are calling from.
| Number | Use it for | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 155 | Customer care from a du line inside the UAE | 24 hours |
| 800 155 | Customer care from another network or a landline | Toll-free |
| +971 55 567 8155 | Calling du from outside the UAE | International call rates may apply |
| 058 242 8268 on WhatsApp | du’s chat assistant on WhatsApp | Shown by du as +971 58 CHATBOT |
| Noora online chat | Live chat from du’s contact page | 24 hours |
The overseas number is the one people forget. If you are roaming and your du line stops working, calling 155 may not connect, and the +971 55 567 8155 route is the one du publishes for customers abroad.
Calls to 155 go much faster when you have the details du will ask for. Before you dial, gather the following.
- The du mobile number or account number concerned, from the bill or the app.
- Your original Emirates ID for anything involving ownership, a replacement SIM or cancellation.
- The date and amount of any disputed charge.
- A trouble ticket or order number if you have already reported the issue.
For problems that need a person in front of you, du’s contact page includes a store locator, so you can find the nearest shop and check its hours before travelling. Ownership changes, contract disputes and cancellations are usually settled faster in a store than over the phone.
Which channel to use for which problem
Not every problem needs a phone call. Picking the right channel is usually faster than waiting in a queue.
| Problem | Best channel |
|---|---|
| Balance or usage | *135# or SMS BAL to 1355 |
| Paying a bill or recharging | Quick Pay or Quick Recharge, no login needed |
| Track an order or a fault ticket | The tracking tools on du’s contact page |
| Home internet not working | du’s online troubleshooter, then 155 |
| Renewing your ID on the account | Quick ID Renewal online, or a store |
| Billing dispute or cancellation | A du store, with your Emirates ID |
du’s contact page groups its self-service tools first for a reason: tracking an order, checking a trouble ticket, unsubscribing from a service and troubleshooting internet can all be done without speaking to anyone.
WhatsApp, Noora chat and the du app
du offers three digital routes. They overlap, but each has a sweet spot.
| Channel | How to reach it | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Message 058 242 8268 | Quick questions and reporting issues without calling | |
| Noora chat | Chat now button on du’s contact page | Live help in a browser, any time |
| du app | App Store or Play Store | Managing services, paying bills, tracking usage and renewing ID |
The du app is the most capable of the three for your own account, because it already knows who you are. WhatsApp and chat are better when you are asking about a line that is not on your phone, or when the app itself is the problem.
Self-service tools that save a call
- Balance and data: our du balance check guide lists every code.
- Payments: our du Quick Pay guide explains which page to use and which cards work.
- ID renewal: our guide to updating your Emirates ID on your SIM covers du’s no-login route.
- Unwanted sales calls: du lets you block marketing calls and report numbers, covered in our spam calls guide.
Unsubscribing from a service that keeps charging you is another common reason to call. du publishes a list of services with their subscribe and unsubscribe codes on its contact page, so check there before waiting on the line.
Escalating a complaint
If a problem is not resolved, the route upwards is the same for every UAE operator.
| Stage | What to do |
|---|---|
| 1. Raise it with du | Call 155 or visit a store, and get a ticket or complaint reference |
| 2. Track it | Use the trouble ticket tracker on du’s contact page |
| 3. Escalate | If still unresolved, complain to the TDRA and quote du’s reference |
The TDRA, the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority, handles complaints that an operator has failed to resolve. It will expect evidence that du already had the chance, so keep the reference number and a short record of dates and what you were told.
Virgin Mobile is different
Virgin Mobile UAE is owned by the same company as du and uses du’s network, but it is a separate service with its own support. Virgin customers are helped through the Virgin Mobile app, not through 155. Our Virgin Mobile UAE guide explains how its app-based support works. For help choosing between networks, see our e& vs du comparison, and for everything else, our UAE telecom guide.
One last point on safety. du, like every UAE operator, will not ask you to pay into a personal bank account or to share a one-time password you did not request. A caller who does either is not du, whatever the caller ID suggests.
